The Allegations, Part 2: ‘Real Life Cannibal’ and ‘Murderer’

‘Real Life Cannibal’
As soon as Effie’s alleged text exchanges with Armie Hammer went viral, the first thing that the internet caught on was the ‘I am 100% a cannibal’ text. Some were horrified and called him a ‘real life cannibal’, some joked and likened Hammer to the fictional character known for cannibalism, Hannibal Lecter, and some maintained that cannibalism was a kink and not a very unusual one at that.
Once Jessica Ciencin Henriquez ‘confirmed’ on 12 January 2021 that Armie Hammer was an ‘abuser’ and ‘predator’, Effie in her Instagram stories, whilst making a reference to his ex, Paige Lorenze, made the first reference to Hammer being allegedly abusive (more on this in later posts) and supposedly being a cannibal (she also spoke of CNC/rape play, but more on that in later posts). Effie also shared more unverified DMs referencing cannibalism and drinking blood. On 14 January 2021, Effie shared a DM from one of her followers who claimed Armie had talked to them about his cannibalistic desires.
In the next few days, more ‘kittens’ like Effie going by Instagram account names of ‘@milkandhoneyroses’ and ‘@truth.and.facts’ (more on this, i.e., the ‘kitten sisterhood’ in the upcoming part of The Allegations Series) shared unverified DMs and alleged experiences. ‘@milkandhoneyroses’ alleged Hammer took a bite out of her shoulder which drew enough blood to land her in the ER. ‘@truth.and.facts’ shared unverified DMs wherein Hammer can be seen referring to wanting to drink blood and calling himself a ‘cannibal’ once again.
The cannibalism claims against Hammer were furthered on 14 January 2021 when his ex, Courtney Vucekovich claimed, “He was really into saying he wants to break one of your ribs and eat it. Like barbecue it and eat it,” and shared a letter where Hammer had allegedly written that he wanted to bite the fuck out of her (more on Courtney’s allegations in a later part of The Allegations Series).
The cannibal allegations further grew when on 22 January 2021, his ex, Paige Lorenze claimed that ‘Hammer was fixated on biting her body, begging that she allow him to take lumps of flesh from her arm, before consuming them’ and that he wanted to eat her ribs (more on Paige’s allegations in a later part of The Allegations Series).
Ironically, on the cannibalism front, Effie later tweeted (and deleted) on 12 February 2021 that she was the one who fetishized his ribs, and again on 21 May 2021 that cannibalism was indeed just a kinky fantasy and that it was originally hers, and lamented, “When I was endlessly ranting to someone about my rib fantasies and joking he should become a doctor to take my lowest ribs and make a show called ‘Curb your Cannibalism’ and he ended up going around creeping out random vanilla girls asking if he can have their ribs removed”, suggesting that the cannibalism kink was a niche not many people would understand.
Murder Speculations
However, cannibalism wasn’t the only explosive allegation against Hammer at the time. As the leaked ‘I am 100% a cannibal’ text to Effie went viral, people on social media started speculating that Hammer may also have committed murder. Soon, on 19 January 2021, Effie claimed during a ‘ask me anything’ session on Instagram that there was a possibility Hammer had committed murder.
Roughly between 14–18 January 2021, Sophie Ross storied to her followers that she had watched enough forensic files and Ted Bundy documentaries to know that Armie Hammer was a ‘serial killer in the making’, further saying that he could be a lust murderer like H.H. Holmes. She also shared a tweet that said that Hammer could be a serial killer because he’d said that his dream dinner guest would be Marquis de Sade in an interview with Netflix in November 2020 while promoting Rebecca, as Ian Brady, who’d committed the Moors murders was inspired by de Sade. Sophie shared another tweet that listed the zodiac signs of popular serial killers where Virgo was extensively featured and it was noted that Hammer was a Virgo. And she shared an anonymous reddit thread claiming the redditor had witnessed Hammer buying a rope and an axe. She then shared Soraya McDonald’s tweet from 5 February 2021 claiming that Hammer wouldn’t have been dropped by his agency if he didn’t have a body in the freezer.
After it was reported on 3 February 2021 that a body was discovered by hikers in the Wonder Valley field on 31 January 2021, DeuxMoi shared submissions that a shocking story about Hammer would be published soon. Effie teased the emerging story. Lauren Skae aka The Zen Blonde (on Instagram and Tiktok), who first came into prominence with regards to this story on 24 January 2021 when she made a Tiktok series about Armie Hammer’s aunt, Casey Hammer and her 2015 memoir ‘Surviving My Birthright’ (more on this in future posts), shared Effie’s stories on Instagram.
Someone speculated on the incident on Lipstick Alley, a gossip forum, and wrote, “Armie is allegedly being investigated regarding the disappearance of a California mom (Erika Lloyd) who set out for a solo road trip to Joshua Tree National. She has been missing since (14) June 2020. Her car was found abandoned and vandalized.” The speculation was based on the fact that during the summer of 2020, around the same time Lloyd went missing, Hammer was in the vicinity of the area where the human remains were found while he was helping renovate a hotel that belonged to his close childhood friend, Ashton Ramsey. On 7 February 2021, a now suspended Twitter account ‘@inthecutzine’ shared the speculation. The Zen Blonde then shared the tweets by ‘@inthecutzine’, and said that she believed Hammer may be a serial killer.
However, on 8 February 2021, the Public Information Officer for the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Office exclusively confirmed to The Sun: “Armie Hammer’s name hasn’t come up as a suspect at all. We have no plans to investigate him,” and said of the Erika Lloyd speculation, “The local coroner is investigating a case of human remains found in the area in February 2021, but the sheriff’s department will not confirm at this time if the remains belong to her.”
The Zen Blonde maintained that Armie Hammer may have still been involved in committing the murder of Erika Lloyd by sharing a DM she received from a ‘source’ claiming that one of Hammer’s friends who is always with him and served in the Army works for the LAPD as a psychologist and that Hammer not being in town at the time of the murder was inconsequential as ‘it was planned for him to have an alibi’. When one of her Tiktok followers requested she take down her posts if Hammer’s name was cleared, she responded with a video of herself sipping tea, suggesting that she didn’t believe his name would be cleared. Tellingly, her stories documented above still remain in her Instagram highlights.
After the murder claim was debunked, Effie, on being asked about the murder claims by her followers, at one instance said that she believed that if she hadn’t exposed him, he would have committed murder, and at another instance said, “I felt he was going to kill me during the assault. I do not believe he has committed homicide himself. I have never flat out said he did because I do not believe it.” However, upon being asked further whether she thought his friends have killed women, she tagged his friend, fitness trainer Ryan Farhoudi and wrote, “Thoughts?”
Interestingly, after Effie constantly brought up Hammer’s friends in her posts, one time suggesting that she met them, someone had anonymously written to DeuxMoi that Effie could have known nothing about Hammer’s friends and that she never met any of them. However, the blind was deleted soon after DeuxMoi posted it, and when one of her followers confronted her in private Instagram messages, she said that it was deleted because the blind was ‘worded wrong’.
On 15 February 2021, Sophie Ross, in an article she penned for Betches, wrote: “The difference between Hammer and other famous sexual abusers of the world — in my humble, untrained opinion — is his highly, highly troubling pattern of behavior. Hammer’s alleged behavior is reminiscent of just about every stereotype you’d associate with a budding Ted Bundy prodigy: animal abuse from an early age, fantasies about eating and displacing a woman’s organs, desires to break his partner’s ribs and bones during sex, and more.” She further wrote that Paige Lorenze spoke to her of the Erika Lloyd speculation and said, “The thing is — I believed the rumors when I first saw them, honestly. He’s capable and he’s dangerous.” After quoting Lorenze, Ross continued: “The rumors were quickly debunked, and it was confirmed that Hammer is not, in any way, related to the case. But that hasn’t stopped many from wondering what other skeletons may potentially be coming out of Hammer’s closet soon, and the number of anti-Armie sleuths subscribed to the subreddit grows everyday.” Sophie’s stories documented above still remain in her Instagram highlights.
